Hanover PA Dutch Days

Hanover PA hosts an annual event called “Dutch Days”, which reminds aHanover PA Dutch Days majority of the residents of their original backrounds.  Hand crafts, Old cars, and live music shut down the entire “Center Square” section of Hanover, which also spans to Wirt Park (High Street, Poplar, and Franklin Streets) and shuts down these roads to accommodate for the large amount of pedestrian traffic.

Dutch days is held on July 30, from 8Am through 4PM and will have activities such as a live band, lots of concessions, and a lot of shops lined up throughout the middle of the roads.  The biggest hit of the event is usually the cars.  Some ranging back to the 60′s and even earlier!  These cars are usually lined up between Chestnut St. and Fredrick St. on Franklin Street.

Rita’s Italian Ice is always a big hit at the Hanover PA Dutch Days.  The hot and humid day that Dutch Days usually falls on makes Rita’s the perfect place to go get refreshments, and did I mention, they have ICE CREAM!  Brusters Ice Cream shop usually has concessions at the Hanover PA event as well, and they have some great flavors available as well..

Bands and local music acts usually perform on a large stage set up directly in the square of Hanover, PA and play throughout the day.  Not sure about you, but I wouldn’t want to be performing on a hot sticky day.
